The Chinese Women’s New Life Movement Club, which has been established for more than 80 years, is the only women's group among the 27 overseas Chinese associations under the CCBA jurisdiction. Leadership from the past presidents and the efforts of its members has injected power and relationship into Chinatown. The club was founded in response to the New Life Movement of Ms. Chiang Soong Mei Ling in 1939, and a group of like-minded Chinatown women initiated the establishment of the "New Life Association Women's Working Committee in Los Angeles". They enthusiastically and actively assisted the Chinatown community and became an affiliated association under CCBA jurisdiction.

Former President of the club, Bee Zhu, passed away last year, and the staff re-election was postponed to February of this year. Total of 5 candidates participated in the election, including: Wong Cui Mei, Mimi Zhao, Joyce Wong, Grace Wuh and Angela Cai. Final ballot result had Mimi Zhao elected as President with 49 votes, Angela Cai elected as the first Vice President with 43 votes, and Joyce Wong elected as the second Vice President with 36 votes.
