CCBA Farewell to Director and Deputy Director and Welcome new Cultural Center of Taipei Economics and Cultural Offices in Los Angeles Director
Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles Deputy
Director Tony Ong plans to retire in mid-July. CCBA holds a
farewell luncheon ceremony at Cultural Center of Taipei
Economics and Cultural Offices in Los Angeles on July 11 to send
off Abraham Chu, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los
Angeles Director, and Tony Ong, Taipei Economic and Cultural
Office in Los Angeles Deputy Director. At the same time, CCBA
also welcome the new Cultural Center of Taipei Economics and
Cultural Offices in Los Angeles Director Chang Hao-Chun. Dozens
of people including the CCBA four chiefs, representatives of
Chinese Associations, advisors, elders attend the meeting and
express their gratitude to Abraham Chu and Tony Ong.
Abraham Chu mentions that his critically ill mother in Taiwan
alone with no relatives, plus the enlightening and touching
emotion from the pandemic made him to decide retiring early and
return to Taiwan to care for his mother.
CCBA President Mei Lau, former President Peter Leung, Michael
Cheung, Peter Ng and many others said that the Director AbrahamChu is rigorous, dedicated, knowledgeable, and advanced. Within
a short time in Los Angeles, he has penetrated into the
mainstream and has contributed a lot for the country, diplomacy
and overseas Chinese. Deputy Director Tony Ong is fluent in
Cantonese, thus blend in well into the traditional overseas
Chinese community. He has accomplished many difficult tasks in
the past six years.
