羅省中華會館創立迄今已有125年的歷史。在這一百多年間，會
館隨著華人移民來美的經歷，一起走過篳路藍縷的坎坷歲月，一
起為爭取華人在美國的公民地位努力，也一起為華裔對美國的貢
獻喝采。
It has been 125 years since CCBA in LA has been founded. Within this
hundred years, we’ve seen the up and downs of our CCBA as there are
more Chinese immigrants coming to the United States. We’ve fought for
many for their rights as American Chinese. We have also seen how big
of an influence the Chinese Americans have contributed to this country.
自2014年1月1日在羅省中華會館宣誓就職之後，我經常都在想著
馬丁•路德•金說過的一句話：「生活最緊要，而且永恆的問題
是：你為他人做了什麼？」宣誓擔任主席是我人生中最感榮耀的
一刻，從這一天開始，我的人生中有了最大意義的負擔和最驕傲
的義務。
Since I became the president of CCBA on January 1st 2014, I kept think-
ing what Marten Luther King had said, “ the most urgent and unfailing
question is: what have I done for others?” Since the day I became the
president, my life has been changed with meaningful responsibilities.
由於這一年是羅省中華會館創立125週年，我們得以繼120週年特
刊的發行之後，再次彙編一本紀念特刊。在彙編歷史的工作中宛
若置身於中華會館光輝的長卷中，除了緬懷前輩先賢的行止，無
時不敢忘記審思個人的使命，督促自己堅持傳統精神，振興和維
護羅省中華會館的主流地位。
This is our 125th anniversary since it has been founded so we published
a special issue. I have learned so much from our pioneers’ example, and
it keeps warning me about my duty as a new president is to protect and
move forward our CCBA.
由於僅僅時隔5年的時間，增補的資料並不是那麼多，但是在羅
省中華會館跨越了在美華人被排斥，被輕忽的許多逆境之後，我
們更清楚地看到了時移事易，以及在美華人的多元，包括在主流
社會和與其他族裔之間的多元，而這也正是羅省中華會館今後將
努力光大的方向。
